About
The first Spark
It all began when Marion was still a child. One day, while wandering near a local waste site, she noticed a bundle of old magazines that someone had thrown away. Curious, she opened them, and what she found changed everything. Between the faded pages unfolded a universe she had never imagined : a world rich in evolution, vibrant colours, intricate behaviours, and extraordinary abilities. Through those images and stories, she met birds for the very first time. An unlikely encounter, born amid discarded objects… Yet one that would shape the rest of her life.
From that moment, Marion was captivated. With the internet not yet part of everyday life, every piece of information felt like a rare gem. She devoured field guides and falconry novels, sought out experienced mentors, and spent countless hours roaming through forests, learning how to recognise tracks, silhouettes, and birdsong.
As the years passed, the living world carved out a place of its own in Marion’s heart. Her curiosity never waned; instead, it grew deeper, guiding her to gather, piece by piece, a rich foundation of knowledge about the species that had first sparked her wonder.
An Unusual Path
What followed was the natural continuation of the story: the arrival of Marion’s first feathered companions at home — soon joined by many others. Over more than ten years, around thirty birds of all kinds became part of her daily life. Alongside them, she continued to gather as much knowledge as she could, always driven by the desire to understand them better and to give them everything she possibly could.
From those early years to the present day, birds have remained a constant presence in Marion’s life. As early as 2010, with her first Galahs and her rosy-faced lovebirds, she took her first steps into the practice of free flight. Practical experience gradually enriched the theoretical foundation she had built over the years, bringing biology, nutrition and preventive care into real-life practice — all while welcoming new canine and feline companions who had nowhere else to go.
When Compassion turned into Commitment
When you truly look at the living world, some realities strike with force: species fading from their native landscapes, mistreated pets seeking refuge, and shelters stretched far beyond their limits. As a young adult, Marion promised herself that one day, when she had the chance to make a difference, she would act, turning her early small steps into something much greater.
In 2016, this promise took shape with the creation of ArkWild, an animal protection organisation open to any creature in need — with particular care for animals living with disabilities or behavioural difficulties, those who would have stood no chance elsewhere.
Deeply committed, Marion poured her energy and resources into this project, working to heal both visible wounds and the deeper ones that cannot be seen.
Running an animal welfare organisation teaches many lessons : animals are not abandoned out of cruelty as often as one might think, but mostly because of human hardship, lack of resources, or simple misunderstanding : that often lead to behavioural issues. Nova, her first adopted dog, was one such case : the result of a breeding that should never have happened, born deaf and destined to be drowned because “a deaf dog cannot live a normal life”.
In 2025, this commitment expanded further with the creation of Plumes à Part (Feathers Apart), a conservation-focused association dedicated to the protection and understanding of nectarivorous and frugivorous parrots. Through this new initiative, Marion reaffirmed her long-standing dedication to conservation, animal welfare and the safeguarding of vulnerable species — extending her work beyond rescue and rehabilitation to include education, preservation and scientific outreach.
Building Evidence-based Care
Years of volunteering and a constant search for what is best for animals have enabled Marion to deepen her expertise and broaden her knowledge time and time again. Continuously engaged in ongoing education, now more than ever, she embraces constant self-reflection, knowing that no knowledge is ever definitive until proven otherwise. Her guiding question has always remained the same: “Given what we know today, did I truly offer the best support to the person who came to me?”
Today, after years of doubt, hesitation, hands-on experience — both voluntary and professional — and extensive training, Marion created Animale Thérapie with a clear purpose: to support humans who wish to improve their communication and relationship with their animal companions, to help them resolve the challenges they face, and to do so while preserving, nurturing, and honouring the emotional and physical wellbeing of the animals at the centre of their lives.
Loving the act of sharing and exchanging ideas, Marion is committed to opening new perspectives and encouraging thoughtful reflection. You’ll find many articles throughout this website
